    i don’t understand it! the shift are written in such vague, macro, terms … sounds like usual marketing-guru-speak to me

    The Shift is definitely not a tactical book and very much a strategic one. It is written with the CMO in mind and working with others in the C suite so I’d agree with you there. Scott Davis is pretty well reknowned and contributor on AdAge in the CMO Strategy column. If you are into high level marketing strategy I think it is a top notch read…if you are just looking for tactics to implement, new ideas, etc…please do look at other books.
