A marketing climber is a young marketing professional, typically in their 20's or 30's, scaling the corporate marketing world- most likely in a medium to large-sized company. He/She is ambitious, a good communicator and smart. Rather than set out on their own, Marketing Climbers are the young professionals hoping to take over the reigns of great marketing companies.
What can you expect from the Marketing Climber blog?
I'll focus on 3 main areas of interest: Hot marketing topics, career development for marketers, and personal branding.
Why Marketing Climber?
Quite frankly, most marketing blogs and career blogs for young professionals like myself (I'm 31 years old) typically are written for an entrepreneur or someone working for a small company or start up. As a self-proclaimed Marketing Climber, I felt like their wasn't much for those who like working for larger companies with brands they already love. I wanted to provide information to these marketing professionals, or Marketing Climbers, looking to take their career to the next level. This might include some quick climbing (promotions), movement form side-to-side (rotations), or even perhaps a fall or two (demotion or poor fit). Rarely do you see someone go in a perfectly linear path in a marketing career climb, such as when climbing up the stairs to the top of Mount Tai .
I hope the Marketing Climber blog can make the journey a little easier for you.
